Folding screen

Folding screen

The Parisian firm Maison Jansen, founded in 1880 by the Dutchman Jean-Henri Jansen, is considered a pioneer in international decoration. With the expansion of its business and new clientele in Latin America, at the beginning of the 20th century it opened workshops and shops in Buenos Aires and Havana, from where it exported precious woods to Europe. These branches were added to others in London, Rome, Milan, Cairo, Prague, Geneva and New York. This sealed folding screen is an element of formal force and constructive precision, used to create dramatic and memorable spaces.
