Piece #2

Piece #2

Hiperpintura is a collection of experimental furniture. Each piece is made by successive layers of thermo-convertible powder paint on a metal skeleton. The hundreds of applications that a robot continuously made, one layer on top of another uninterruptedly for 3 months, end up generating a volume where the paint stops functioning as a finish and starts to be a material in itself, moldable and machinable. This collection transits the interstice between sculpture and furniture, between heavy industrial production and craftsmanship, between productive time and extended time.

Grupo Bondi

Grupo Bondi

Grupo Bondi is a leading name in experimental design in Argentina.

Based in Buenos Aires, this studio-workshop has been led by industrial designers Iván López Prystajko and Eugenio Gómez Llambí since 2008. Their works challenge the superficial and immediate consumption of design, sparking controversy and richness in the debate.

They design and produce by tapping into the poetic essence of everyday objects. Consumer products become their canvas: instead of writing a song or painting a picture, they create furniture. Grupo Bondi revisits Borges’ literary question: how to navigate the cultural mainstream from the periphery? They turn the marginal into an aesthetic, a poetic, a form, a product.
